4 Proven PR Tips for Extra Exposure
As your company continues to implement its marketing strategies, a solid public relations plan should be part of the formula.
Getting coverage in the hospitality trade publications and websites leads to valuable (free) awareness for your company, which generates more sales leads.
So, here are 4 quick tips that will help your PR efforts.
1) Send a consistent flow of press releases
Whether you’re announcing a new product, client or staff member, it’s crucial to keep your company in the news, which can appear in a trade publication’s daily e-newsletter, website or print edition. If you don’t have newsworthy information to announce each month, definitely try for once a quarter.
2) Know the editors at each publication
Your press release has been written, but who does it get sent to? A media list needs to be built with full contact information for each editor and writer at each magazine and website. Keep in mind that a publication might have an editor who oversees the field that your company is in (e.g., hotel technology).
3) Compile editorial calendars
Each trade magazine has an editorial calendar for 2021 that lists the planned article topics for each issue. If you haven’t yet done so, compile each one, identify which articles apply to your company, and pitch accordingly. Don’t let your competitors beat you to this valuable exposure.
4) Pursue listing opportunities
Editorial calendars also detail when surveys, buyers guides and other listing opportunities are scheduled. Some might be approaching, so don’t miss a deadline.
Simple ideas that go a long way toward increasing your level of exposure and are easy to implement.
